Kitebi SS hosts Sayidina Abubakar SS to a special luncheon

Following a heartfelt choir performance by learners of Sayidina Abubakar Secondary School during the school’s 4th VTAB Graduation Ceremony in Butambala District, Hajj Muhammed Kamulegeya, Team Leader of Kitebi Secondary School and the Chief Guest at the event, invited the choir and the school’s leadership to a special luncheon at Kitebi Secondary School as a gesture of appreciation.

The choir had performed a special song in recognition of Hajj Kamulegeya’s contribution to education, the school he leads and his support for their school, particularly in the field of vocational and technical training at Sayidina Abubakar Secondary School.

The luncheon brought together more than 40 students and stakeholders from Sayidina Abubakar Secondary School, including the Head Teacher, MzeeKabugu Abdul Majid, members of the Board, and other invited guests. At Kitebi Secondary School, they were warmly received by the Kitebi school community, with more than 4,000 learners, who entertained the visitors, together with and members of staff extending a warm welcome at the school grounds.

In his welcoming remarks, Hajj Muhammed Kamulegeya, Team Leader of Kitebi Secondary School, expressed his gratitude to the delegation from Sayidina Abubakar Secondary School for honouring his invitation and for the appreciation they had shown towards his contribution to the education sector. He noted that such interactions provide an opportunity for schools to learn from one another and build lasting partnerships.

On behalf of the students’ body, Edith Bakyayi, the Prime Minister of Kitebi Secondary School also welcomed the visitors, and noted that the newly started collaboration between the two schools would provide opportunities for learners to benchmark, exchange ideas, and inspire one another towards greater academic and co-curricular achievements.

Speaking on behalf of Sayidina Abubakar Secondary School, the Chairperson of the School Board of Governors expressed appreciation for the warm reception accorded to the delegation. He noted that he was impressed by the large student population at Kitebi Secondary School and commended Hajj Muhammed Kamulegeya, together with the teaching and non-teaching staff, for their commitment to providing quality education, nurturing learners, and guiding the school through its continued growth and transformation.

During the event, the Sayidina Abubakar Secondary School choir once again performed their special appreciation song in honour of Hajj Kamulegeya. Moved by the thoughtful gesture, he presented the choir with a token of appreciation in recognition of their outstanding performance. The hosting school also presented gifts to their visitors as a symbol of gratitude.

The visitors later enjoyed a well-organised luncheon, with students, teachers, and staff from both schools interacting and sharing experiences in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
