Kitebi Secondary School kicks off 2026 UCE examinations
On Monday 12th October, 2026, Kitebi Secondary School successfully commenced their 2026 Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) examinations, with candidates reporting for inspection early in the morning before sitting their first paper, Mathematics, amid rainy weather.
The candidates were assembled at 8.ooam for the morning inspection, marking the beginning of a critical period in their academic journey as they sat for their national examinations.
Despite the rain, the learners turned up for the exercise, lining up separately in boys’ and girls’ groups as school officials prepared them for the day’s activities.
Due to the large numbers sitting for the exainationations, the school conducted the examinations using two centres within the school premises: an internal centre located in the upper section of the school and an external centre in the lower section.
The use of the two centres is key in enabling the school to organise candidates in their assigned examination spaces while allowing officials to supervise the process in accordance with examination requirements.
The morning session proceeded with the Mathematics paper, followed by the afternoon session, with both sessions conducted successfully and no examination-related incidents reported by the school.

Candidates undergo inspection before examinations
During the morning assembly, candidates were issued examination cards bearing their names, index numbers and seating arrangements to guide them to the available examination rooms.
The process was part of the preparations to ensure that each candidate was correctly identified and directed to the appropriate examination room before the papers began.
The candidates subsequently underwent thorough checks under the supervision of the examination officials to ensure compliance with examination regulations and prevent any form of malpractice.
The inspection process was intended to safeguard the integrity of the examinations by ensuring that candidates entered the examination rooms in accordance with the established guidelines.
Following inspection, candidates were directed to their respective blocks to take their papers according to the designated arrangements.

Adv. Kmulegeya addresses candidates
Adv. Haj Kamulegeya Muhammed, the Team Leader and Head Teacher of Kitebi SS, addressed the candidates before they proceeded to their respective examination rooms. As a father-figure and head of school, he prayed for and wished them success as they embarked on their examinations, encouraging them to approach the papers with confidence after the preparation they had undertaken.
His message came after the school’s Dedication Day, during which religious leaders, teachers, parents and school management gathered to pray for the candidates and encourage them to remain focused on their academic goals.
The school administration has continued to emphasise the importance of discipline, integrity and adherence to examination guidelines as the candidates undertake their national assessments.

Maintaining focus on examination integrity
The commencement of the examinations marks an important stage for the candidates, who have spent years preparing for their national assessments.
Through candidate identification, inspection and supervision, the school sought to ensure that the examination process proceeded in an orderly manner and in line with UNEB requirements.
As the examination period continues, candidates are expected to maintain discipline, observe all examination regulations and demonstrate the knowledge and skills acquired throughout their studies.
The successful completion of the first day’s sessions marked the beginning of the examination period at Kitebi SS, with the school continuing to facilitate the candidates as they undertake their remaining papers.
