Kitebi SS leadership emphasises exam preparation, talent development and responsible social media use
With only a few weeks left before the end of Term III, the Team Leader of Kitebi Secondary School, Adv. Haj. Kamulegeya Muhammed, has urged learners to intensify their revision in preparation for the forthcoming end-of-term examinations.
Addressing the learners during the close of Month school assembly, Haj. Kamulegeya emphasised the importance of consistent revision, discipline and proper time management, noting that the remaining weeks should be used productively to improve their academic performance.

Referring to a video that had circulated on social media involving learners from another school, in which content was created undermining some prominent individuals in the country, he warned the learners of Kitebi Secondary School against engaging in similar practices.
He cautioned them against using the school’s uniform to create and circulate misleading or inappropriate content on social media, urging them to uphold the school’s image and reputation both within and outside the school environment.

Haj. Kamulegeya further emphasised the need for learners to exercise responsibility when using digital platforms, reminding them that content creation comes with obligations and that certain forms of online conduct may attract legal consequences.
The Team Leader thus encouraged the learners to respect and take pride in their school, noting that their actions and online conduct should reflect positively on the institution.
End of Term examinations program
Under the Directorate of Studies, headed by Ms Atuhaire Jackline, learners were briefed on the arrangements for the forthcoming end-of-term examinations, which are an important part of assessing their academic progress and determining their promotion to the next class.
The Directorate issued learners with an examination timetable, indicating that the end-of-term examinations are scheduled to run from November 9th to November 16th, 2026. The timetable outlines the examination schedule to guide learners in organising their revision and preparing for the different subjects.

With this guidance, learners were encouraged to familiarise themselves with the examination dates and allocate sufficient time to each subject, paying particular attention to areas they find challenging. The Directorate further urged them to make effective use of the remaining weeks by maintaining consistent revision routines, consulting their teachers for guidance where necessary and avoiding last-minute preparation.
They were also reminded to observe examination guidelines, manage their time effectively and approach the assessments with confidence and seriousness, given their importance in evaluating academic progress and informing their progression to the next class.
Nurturing learners’ abilities
As part of efforts to identify, nurture and provide platforms for learners to showcase their talents beyond academics, the Team Leader tasked the Co-curricular Department, headed by Mr Kambo Meddy and Ms Joan Nakazibwe, to organise a talent show and a series of sports activities.

Speaking during the assembly, the department informed learners that the talent show would take place the following week after the examinations, with participation organised through interclass competitions.
Learners were encouraged to prepare original compositions and presentations across various categories, including a cappella performances, vocal singing, modelling, public speaking, comedy and skits, instrumental performances, visual arts, school choir, imitation, beatboxing, emceeing, sporting skills, dance, debating, poetry, creative writing and rap, including Lugaflow.
Other areas of participation will include Science Club exhibitions and Nkobazambogo exhibitions showcasing traditional and cultural wear, among other creative expressions.

They were further urged to develop quality, original content and clean rap or positive-message rap ahead of the auditions, through which outstanding acts will be selected for presentation before the Team Leader.
“Learners who successfully make it through the process will have an opportunity to showcase their abilities before Adv. Kamulegeya, who will recognise your efforts with certificates and medals during an appreciation event scheduled for Friday, November 20, 2026.” Ms Joan noted.
Sports activities
In addition to the talent show, the Co-curricular Department announced a series of interclass sports activities intended to encourage participation, teamwork and the development of learners’ sporting abilities.
Learners were asked to organise their respective class teams in preparation for competitions in football, volleyball, netball and dance sport, as well as indoor games such as chess and ludo.
The sports activities are scheduled to commence on November 2nd, 2026, providing learners with an opportunity to participate in organised competitions as the school prepares for the conclusion of Term III.
Ms Joan thus encouraged learners to participate actively and support their respective classes throughout the activities.

Additionally, the school is set to host the 2026 Kho Kho Cup, an event that will provide an opportunity for the school’s team to showcase its skills, promote the sport among learners and raise the school’s profile at the national level.
Hosting the competition is also expected to give Kitebi Secondary School greater visibility in the sporting arena while providing a platform for learners to appreciate and support the sport.
During the assembly, learners were encouraged to rally behind and support the school’s Kho Kho team as it prepares to participate in the competition. They were also urged to take an active interest in the event and other school activities as a way of promoting school spirit, teamwork and appreciation of co-curricular engagements.

LEOs medical camp
During the assembly, the staff and learners of Kitebi Secondary School were also informed about an upcoming medical camp scheduled for Saturday November 7th, 2026.
The camp, organised in collaboration of the Kampala Generations Lions Club, Kampala Central Lions Club, Nsambya Lions Club and the LEOs Club of Kitebi SS together with the Kitebi LCI community, will provide free medical services to members of the community.
Among the services to be offered are vision screening, diabetes testing and high blood pressure (HBP) screening, alongside other medical assessments, health education and guidance on preventive healthcare practices.

Learners and staff were encouraged to take note of the activity and support its preparations as part of the school’s continued efforts to promote community health and service.
Through the academic guidance, co-curricular programmes and community initiatives communicated during the assembly, the school continues to encourage learners to balance academic excellence with discipline, responsible citizenship, creativity and active participation in school life.
