Teachers engage parents on learners’ academic progress during visitation day at Kitebi SS
On Sunday, November 1, 2026, Kitebi Secondary School held its Term III visitation day. The activity, which ran from 8:00am to 5:00pm, brought parents and guardians to the school to interact with their children and establish how they were progressing academically, socially and generally within the school environment.
During the visit, parents met their children’s respective class teachers to discuss their academic performance, identify areas requiring improvement and receive guidance on how best to support them as they prepare for their forthcoming examinations.
The interactions also provided an opportunity for teachers to share observations about learners’ classroom participation, academic strengths and areas where additional attention and support may be necessary.
With the end-of-term examinations approaching, parents were able to establish the progress their children have made during the term and discuss measures that could help them improve their performance.
Prayers for their children
Beyond the academic discussions, parents and guardians also took time to pray for their children, seeking God’s guidance, protection, wisdom and success in their forthcoming examinations.
The prayers reflected the role of spiritual encouragement and family support in preparing learners to approach their examinations with confidence and commitment.
Outstanding fees
The visitation day also provided an opportunity for parents and guardians to engage with the school’s Bursar’s Office regarding outstanding school fees.
Parents with outstanding fee balances were encouraged to follow up on their respective accounts and make arrangements to clear the arrears in a timely manner. This, the school emphasised, would support the continuity of its services to learners and ensure the smooth running of school programmes and daily operations.
The engagement was thus intended to strengthen communication between the school and parents on financial obligations.
Strengthening the school–parent partnership
The visitation day reaffirmed the importance of cooperation between parents, teachers and school administrators in supporting learners’ academic development and general welfare.
Through such engagements, parents are able to remain informed about their children’s progress, while teachers and school administrators gain an opportunity to work with families in addressing challenges that may affect learners’ performance.
As the school approaches the end of Term III, the interaction provided an important opportunity for parents to assess their children’s progress and reinforce the support needed for them to complete the term successfully.
